Yes, ANOTHER food blog…

It’s official, I have joined the blogging phenomenon! World, here I am!

I have been married just a little over two years. At some point before the wedding I was determined that when I became Mrs. Vavra I would also become Mrs. Cleaver-Vavra (in case your too young to remember, that would be from Mrs. June Cleaver from the Leave it to Beaver Show, the housewife that all men dream of). I envisioned my hair perfectly coiffed, make-up stunning, dress freshly pressed, and pearls shimmering from my collarbone. Mind you I would look like this no matter what my day had planned- laundry, baking, coffee with the girls, gardening, shoveling snow, shopping at Macy’s, or mowing the lawn. I would look perfect!

Along with my looks, would be the perfect house. It would be immaculate. Not a speck of dust in sight, not a single piece of lint found on the rug, not a dirty dish in the sink. I would greet my husband at the door (looking gorgeous, remember) with a kiss on the cheek while holding a fresh-baked cherry pie. Dinner would be on the table, piping hot, just waiting to be devoured.

Mrs. Vavra

Well….if you are a wife/mother/grandmother/aunt/breathing female, you know this did not happen. It doesn’t mean that I still don’t strive to make a wonderful household for my family, but it usually isn’t done in pearls.

I love to cook. I love to entertain. I love to create parties. I love to decorate. I have created this blog to share my many loves with you. I promise to share the good, the bad, and yes some days even the ugly. I will share with you new recipes I experiment with and old recipes I love to make over and over. I will also share with you my ideas when entertaining- creating invites, menu cards, tabletop decor and more.

I will write as often as my life creates blog worthy events. I may even delve into my past, sharing with you weddings, showers, birthdays and even Tuesday night meals I have created for my friends and family.

I hope you will leave here with new tips for the kitchen, great ideas for entertaining, a smile from my life stories and knowing that you’re not the only wife not wearing your pearls while making supper.
